WBSA Letter

Letter from the WBSA President

Dear friends and families of Waldwick,

As I enter my second year as president of the WBSA, I find one of the most rewarding parts of my involvement with the organization is witnessing the bond that forms between teammates through practicing and competing together. These bonds often lead to close friendships that last long beyond the field. In preparation of the upcoming 2010 season, the WBSA has worked very hard to make improvements to our program for the youth of Waldwick. Our charter is to provide all WBSA players the very best baseball and softball experience. Through encouragement and good example, we help assure that our children learn good sportsmanship and self discipline, teach our children to work together and sacrifice for the good of the team, to enjoy winning and deal appropriately with defeat- all while becoming physically fit and healthy. Above all else, keeping in mind we are about having fun. We feel that through organized leagues and instructional clinics we can promote the benefits of teamwork to achieve a set of common goals.

As a long time resident of Waldwick, I personally have benefited from my involvement with the WBSA. I have met some wonderful individuals with some becoming life long friends. I encourage all of you to get involved. Not only will your children enjoy your participation but you may also gain a friend along the way!

As always, the WBSA continues to receive a huge amount of support from the business community. I hope that you take the time to thank and patronize the sponsors. Quite a few of the sponsors are local businesses who would appreciate the business as well as enjoy a personal thank you from one of the kids on their sponsored team!

On behalf of the executive board, I would like to thank all of the parents who volunteer as coaches and members in their efforts in coordinating the spring sport season. The WBSA is only as good as it’s volunteers. The ideas and talents that you bring to the program are immeasurable.

With Warmest Regards!
Bob Mainenti
2010 WBSA President

"There is only one reason for the existence of the Waldwick Baseball Association; to provide beneficially a program of Baseball for Boys and girls between the ages of 8 - 15.

Year after year we progress to further expand in order to achieve this goal. Our volunteer help, our many sponsors, our Town Body... all these groups and many others, combine their efforts so that it is possible for our Boys and Girls to enjoy and fulfill their formative years."
